AICA Sire evaluation Program
The AICA Sire Evaluation Program is a progeny test managed by AICA that evaluates sires for economically important traits. Although the program has traditionally focused on the collection of carcass data, the evolving progress of genomic research and other advanced technology for identifying genetic differences among cattle makes this program useful for testing and validation of new technolgoy.

Careful consideration to the design of the program and collection of data ensures that the data is accurate and of substantial value to the Charolais breed. The information gathered through this program will form the basis for an accurate description of Charolais genetics for years to come.

Because of the efforts of individual breeders that nominate and consign outstanding young bulls to the program the Charolais breed will remain at the forefront of the industry for genetic information from which to base selection decisions and improve the performance of their herds.

NOMINATION OF BULLS
Each spring members of the American-International Charolais Association are eligible to nominate bulls for evaluation. It is the responsibility of the bull owner to ensure that the bull meets any and all requirements set forth by AICA pertaining to bulls used for artificial insemination and furthermore that the bull is registered with AICA at the time of the nomination.

The consignment fee is $3000.00 per bull with 1/2 due at nomination and the remaining 1/2 due at 100 days on feed or at slaughter, whichever occurs first. The member(s) nominating the bull are responsible for all payments. Bulls will be placed on the program in the order that signed and paid nominations are received by AICA.
